Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has accepted fellow Nigerian singer Teni’s playful challenge to a boxing match, telling the “Fargin” hitmaker to “pick a date” after she called her out in a viral video.
Teniola Atinuke Apata, popularly known as Teni, issued the challenge in a video shared on social media on Friday, October 2, while discussing the earnings of Nigerian entertainers and the expensive cars owned by some artistes.
In the video, Teni jokingly challenged Tiwa to a boxing bout and suggested a purse of ₦1.5 billion. She also wondered whether such an amount would be enough to purchase a Bugatti, before declaring that she was ready to face the “Somebody’s Son” singer in the ring.
Teni further joked that she would defeat Tiwa before singing her hit song, “My Darling”, for her after the fight. She also told Tiwa that she would apologise after the proposed encounter.
Tiwa, however, appeared to play along with the challenge, responding to Teni’s post in the comment section with three words: “Pick a date.” Her response quickly generated reactions among fans and entertainment followers online.
