The 2027 Oyo Central Senatorial District candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has purchased 1,000 tickets for supporters of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), Ibadan, to watch the club’s Nigeria Premier Football League clash against Kano Pillars free of charge.
The match is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, with kick-off fixed for 4:00 p.m.
Ajadi, who made the gesture as part of his support for sports and youth development, said the initiative was designed to encourage Shooting Stars players by ensuring that they have a large and enthusiastic crowd behind them during the important home fixture.
According to him, football remains an important tool for youth engagement, social development and community unity, stressing that supporters have a major role to play in motivating players to perform at their best.
“I am delighted to provide 1,000 tickets for our people to watch Shooting Stars play Kano Pillars. This is not just about football; it is about supporting our young people, encouraging our local talents and bringing our communities together through sports,” Ajadi said.

He added, “Shooting Stars is a club with a rich history and a strong place in the hearts of the people of Oyo State. I want the players to look into the stands and see thousands of supporters cheering them on. Our young people deserve opportunities to enjoy good football and to see that their leaders also care about their interests.”

The free tickets are expected to benefit football enthusiasts and supporters drawn largely from the 11 local government areas that make up Oyo Central Senatorial District, including Atiba, Afijio, Ogo-Oluwa, Ona-Ara, Egbeda, Oluyole, Akinyele, Lagelu, Oyo West, Oyo East, and Surulere as well as supporters from other parts of Oyo State.
Ajadi said his gesture was also intended to promote peaceful participation in sporting activities and encourage more young people to develop interest in football and other sporting disciplines.
He urged the beneficiaries of the tickets to conduct themselves peacefully at the stadium and give maximum support to the Shooting Stars players throughout the encounter.
“I appeal to everyone coming to the stadium through these tickets to support our team peacefully and responsibly. Let us make the stadium a place of excitement, unity and encouragement for our players,” he said.
The initiative is coming as Shooting Stars prepare to welcome Kano Pillars to the Lekan Salami Stadium, where the home advantage and support of the fans could provide an important boost for the Ibadan-based side.
Ajadi further expressed optimism that the match would provide an opportunity for football lovers across Oyo State to come together and demonstrate their passion for the Shooting Stars.
The gesture marks an unusual intervention by a political candidate in supporting football fans directly by providing free access to a major league fixture, with Ajadi stressing that his interest in sports goes beyond politics to include youth empowerment, community engagement and the promotion of local sporting talent.
