A political rift that threatened unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area of Lagos State has been resolved, following the intervention of Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Merit Newspaper reports that the reconciliation brought together the Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof-Oloyede, and the President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo. Both figures had been embroiled in a lingering dispute that raised concerns among party loyalists in the state.

The peace accord, held in Abuja, was attended by key stakeholders within the NURTW and political aides, signaling a coordinated effort to restore harmony within the party’s local structure. Observers say the intervention underscores growing moves to consolidate political unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking after the meeting, Almaroof-Oloyede described the feud as unnecessary and affirmed that both camps had agreed to put past differences aside. He stressed that renewed cooperation would enhance governance and grassroots mobilization in Oshodi-Isolo.

MC Oluomo, a prominent grassroots mobilizer within Lagos politics, also pledged to maintain peace and support collective efforts aimed at strengthening the APC’s dominance in the state and beyond. Sources close to the meeting revealed that both leaders committed to continuous dialogue to prevent future conflicts.

The council chairman commended Seyi Tinubu for his mediatory role, noting that his intervention reflects a broader commitment to party cohesion and political stability. He further urged party stakeholders in Oshodi-Isolo to remain united and focused on delivering electoral victories for the APC.

With tensions now eased, political watchers believe the reconciliation could bolster the ruling party’s grassroots machinery in Lagos, particularly as preparations gradually begin for the 2027 elections, where President Tinubu is expected to seek re-election.
