Ibadan, Nigeria – Nollywood actress and entrepreneur Aishat Lawal has expanded her business empire with the grand opening of her fabric store, Talking Fingers by Aishat Plaza, at Plot 1, Adelabu Shopping Complex, Orita Challenge, Ibadan, Oyo State. The event, held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, drew notable personalities from the Nigerian film industry, business sector, and beyond.

Among the distinguished guests was veteran actor and producer Femi Adebayo, widely regarded as Lawal’s mentor in the Nigerian film industry. Adebayo, known for his blockbuster film Seven Doors, officially cut the ribbon, offering prayers for the store’s success and growth.
Speaking via a viral video on her social media handle, Aishat Lawal shared insights into her multifaceted career, stating, “Many people know me as an actress and film producer, but not many realize I have also been a businesswoman for nearly 20 years.” She revealed that her entrepreneurial journey began with trading goods from Cotonou and Porto-Novo, importing products for sale in Lagos and Ibadan.
Lawal explained that she has explored various business ventures over the years. “I started with a salon business and buying and selling before venturing into the clothing business in 2019. Six years later, we have expanded into Talking Fingers by Aishat Plaza,” she said.
The new store offers a wide range of wholesale tailoring materials, fabrics, laces, men’s and women’s materials, appliqués, accessories, trimmings, damask, brocade, Aso Oke, and more. Lawal emphasized her commitment to providing quality fashion materials at competitive prices, catering to designers and fabric enthusiasts across Nigeria.
The event was graced by family, friends, and colleagues from Nollywood, who gathered to celebrate Lawal’s new milestone. With her background in law, entertainment, and entrepreneurship, Aishat Lawal continues to inspire many, proving that talent and business acumen can go hand in hand.
