Lagos state Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu says the phase two of the Adiyan Water Works project expected to supply Lagos residents with seventy million gallons of water per day will be completed in the next ten to twelve months.

The Governor who was accompanied by his Deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, said this when he led an entourage to inspect the state of ongoing works on Adiyan Water Works, restated the commitment to completing
the project which is eighty percent completed before the end of his administration.

He thanked the residents for their cooperation and expressed satisfaction on the spate of works by the contractor on project which would enhance socio-economic, lifestyle and living standard of Lagosians, pledging that the state government would improve Independent Power Project in Akute to power the facility.

Earlier, the Commissioner For Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said the state government had continued to rededicate itself to providing Lagosians access to adequate pipe borne water.

In his remarks, General Manager, Lagos State Water Corporation, Mukhtaar Tijani, thanked Governor Sanwo-Olu’s team for its supports and assured that works on the project would be completed by the contractor in due course.

The contract for Adiyan Water Works was awarded in 2012 while works commenced on the project in 2013.
