Abeokuta, Ogun State – August 7, 2025
Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, a Southwest chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has extended heartfelt condolences to the Ogun State Chairman of the party, Barrister Senator Olufemi John Aina, following the death of his beloved mother, Alhaja Risikat Agbeyangi, popularly known as Iya Ologi, who passed away in the early hours of Thursday, August 7, 2025.

In a solemn condolence message issued Thursday afternoon in Abeokuta, Ambassador Ajadi described the late Alhaja Agbeyangi as a virtuous woman, a community pillar, and a mother who nurtured one of the finest political leaders in the Southwest.

“The news of the passing of Alhaja Risikat Agbeyangi came as a rude shock to me. She was not only the mother of our State Chairman, Senator Olufemi Aina, but a revered matriarch whose life reflected strength, wisdom, and dignity,” Ambassador Ajadi said.

He noted that the NNPP family in the Southwest and across Nigeria was thrown into mourning by the news of her passing, describing it as an irreplaceable loss not only to the Aina family but to the entire party structure.

“Mama’s contributions to society, though quiet, were profound. Through her values, she raised a son who has become a beacon of leadership, integrity, and loyalty within our party. That is no small feat. The legacy she leaves behind is deeply rooted in the lives she touched and in the exemplary public service of her son,” he added.

Ambassador Ajadi, who was the NNPP’s presidential aspirant in the 2023 and the gubernatorial candidate of NNPP in the 2023 general elections and a staunch advocate for youth inclusion in governance, emphasized the importance of family in shaping leaders, pointing to Senator Aina’s calm resolve, discipline, and sense of justice as traits inherited from his late mother.

“We often say that great men are made at home. Senator Aina’s strength and unwavering commitment to our party and the people of Ogun State speak volumes about the foundation laid by his dear mother,” he said.

The NNPP chieftain called on party members and political stakeholders in Ogun and beyond to join hands in comforting Senator Aina during this period of grief.

“At this critical time, we must show love, solidarity, and brotherhood. I urge our party faithful across the country to lift our Chairman in prayers and support. May Almighty Allah forgive the shortcomings of Alhaja Agbeyangi and grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus,” Ajadi prayed.

He reiterated by expressing his resolve to personally stand by the Aina family and support them during the funeral rites and beyond.
