Abuja, Nigeria – Tuesday, September 23, 2025

Abuja — A fresh political twist unfolded at the National Assembly on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, when the office of suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan was officially unsealed.

In a video surfaced on Tuesday, the Deputy Director of the Sergeant-at-Arms, Alabi Adedeji, was seen unlocking and declaring the office open after it had remained sealed since her suspension earlier this year.

Natasha, who represents Kogi Central, was suspended in controversial circumstances by the Senate President and other upper chamber members.

The reopening of her office has raised questions over whether she may soon resume legislative duties, or if the move is simply procedural.

Political observers say the development could be a signal of reconciliation or a shift in the Senate’s earlier position. However, no official statement has been issued by the Senate leadership, and Senator Natasha has yet to publicly react.

The unsealing of her office comes at a time when Nigerians continue to debate the fairness of her suspension, which had drawn public sympathy and criticism from civil society groups.

For now, the action leaves Nigerians asking: Is Natasha on her way back to the red chamber?
