The day belonged to Portugal, who sent a strong warning to fellow title contenders with a commanding 5-0 demolition of Uzbekistan in a Group K encounter. The European giants displayed attacking brilliance and defensive solidity, overwhelming their opponents from start to finish to strengthen their position in the race for the knockout stage.

Elsewhere, England were forced to settle for a goalless draw against Ghana in Group L. Despite dominating possession and creating several chances, the Three Lions found the Black Stars difficult to break down. Ghana’s disciplined defensive performance earned the African side a valuable point and kept their hopes of qualification alive.

In another Group L fixture, Croatia secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Panama in a tightly contested match. The former World Cup finalists relied on their experience and tactical discipline to edge past the Central Americans, earning three crucial points in their quest to progress to the next round.

Colombia also recorded a hard-fought 1-0 win over DR Congo in Group K. The South Americans had to withstand periods of pressure before finding the breakthrough that ultimately separated both sides. The victory boosted Colombia’s chances of advancing while leaving the Congolese side with work to do in their remaining fixtures.
