NCAA Grounds Fuji Star K1 De Ultimate for Six Months Over Alleged Airport Misconduct

By Ibrahim Kegbegbe

Abuja, Nigeria – August 7, 2025
The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has announced a six-month domestic flight ban on renowned Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, over an alleged incident involving misconduct at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

The directive was revealed on Thursday during a press briefing by the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the NCAA, Michael Achimugu, who described the musician’s actions as a violation of aviation safety protocols.

According to the NCAA, the incident occurred at the domestic terminal, where K1 allegedly breached security regulations by attempting to board a flight with a liquid-filled flask. When asked to comply with security procedures, he reportedly spilled the contents of the flask—believed to be alcohol—on a security personnel.

“What I must assure the general public is that everybody involved in this will be brought to book,” Achimugu stated. “As we speak, the passenger is going to be blacklisted for the next six months from flying in Nigeria.”

Pending further investigation, the authority also directed that K1 be placed on a no-fly list, alongside the crew members involved in the incident. Achimugu added that all domestic and international airlines operating in Nigeria have been notified of the directive.

“Any airline that flouts this order risks suspension or the withdrawal of its operating licence,” he warned.

In response to the allegations, K1 De Ultimate denied any wrongdoing. In a statement issued by his media team, the veteran artist claimed the substance in question was ordinary drinking water and insisted the situation had been misrepresented.

“This was nothing but a case of misunderstanding. I complied with airport officials, and the flask contained only water,” the statement read.

Despite the denial, the NCAA maintains its stance, adding that the matter has been escalated to the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police for possible prosecution.

The incident has sparked mixed reactions across social media, with many calling for stricter enforcement of airport conduct regulations regardless of status or profession.

This marks the first time a high-profile entertainer is being publicly sanctioned by the NCAA for misconduct within an airport environment.
