.....Nigeria’s Power Brokers Storm Ijebu for Awujale’s Final Journey

It was a grand farewell as Nigeria’s most influential leaders converged on Ijebu-Ode for the burial ceremony of the revered monarch, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the Awujale of Ijebuland, who passed away at the age of 91.
From governors to federal lawmakers, top traditional rulers to captains of industry, the who’s who of Nigeria’s political and royal circles paid their last respects to the legendary king.
The atmosphere was a blend of solemnity and prestige as the royal city played host to dignitaries from across the nation.
Chief Gbenga Daniel, a member of the Senate and former governor of Ogun State (2003–2011), was seen alongside former Ogun State governor Chief Olusegun Osoba and the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the Governor of Ogun State, Governor Dapo Abiodun.
Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo also arrived under tight security.

A cross-section of monarchs, adorned in traditional regalia, added royal splendor to the ceremony.
Other distinguished personalities were also seen in conversation with Ogun elders, reflecting the depth of respect accorded to the late monarch.

The outpouring of tributes reflects the monumental legacy of the Awujale, who reigned for over six decades.
