The Majority Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Noheem Adams, has emerged winner of the party’s primary election for Eti-Osa Constituency 1 after recording a decisive victory over his challenger, Saheed Adesegun Bankole.

Adams secured a total of 7,638 votes, while Bankole polled 1,225 votes in the exercise held at Ward K3, Olomu Primary School, Ajah, in Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The result was officially announced by Basirat Kamoru, who declared Adams the duly elected candidate of the APC for the forthcoming Lagos State House of Assembly election in the constituency.

However, The Merit Newspaper reports that electoral officials noted that the primary was not entirely concluded across all wards, as the election in Ward J was declared inconclusive, even though results from five other wards had already produced a clear advantage for Adams.

Despite the inconclusive ward, collated figures from the remaining wards showed Adams recording significant margins across the constituency, with strong leads reported in areas including Ajah and Oniru, where he reportedly polled well ahead of his opponent.

The incumbent lawmaker, while acknowledging his victory, attributed the outcome to party unity and internal democracy, noting that key stakeholders within the party had supported his re-election bid ahead of the exercise.

With the result, Adams has secured the APC ticket for Eti-Osa Constituency 1 and is expected to represent the party in the upcoming Lagos State House of Assembly election.
