In a statement issued at late hours of Thursday, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Felix Morka, urged party members, supporters and the general public to disregard all unofficial figures and announcements currently being circulated online.
Morka stated that “no official result has been released by the APC Electoral Committee regarding any of the party’s primary elections across the country,” describing the reports making the rounds as “unofficial, speculative and should be disregarded.”
The Merit Newspaper reports that according to him, all authentic results from the gubernatorial primary elections would be officially announced by the appropriate authorities of the party in Abuja at the appropriate time.
He appealed to APC faithful across the nation to remain calm, law-abiding and patient while awaiting the official declaration from the Electoral Committee.
“The APC remains committed to transparency, fairness and the democratic process in all our activities,” Morka said, warning against the spread of fake news and misinformation capable of causing confusion within the party and among the public.
